Folk artist, Ben Sollee, takes shots at Kanye West (WTF?)

I am not all that knowledgeable about Folk music, but this guy named Ben Sollee is throwing shots at Kanye about the whole Bonnaroo Festival thing.

Ok, so what if it is not the usual 50 Cent type of beef…. but it is still funny. I wonder if Kanye will respond back (if he hasn’t already).

Peep the song & lyrics below:

Ben Sollee – Dear Kanye (MP3)

Dear Kanye
You’re letting me down
You got the biggest bat in the game
But you can’t hit the ball
It’s the heavy weight match
And you’re off in the corner punchin’ at the wall

Dear Kanye
Don’t let us fall
You’re at the diplomatic dinner
With fine china and all
A silver fork in your hand
But still you spit and gnaw
Greatness is a glass elevator, and so you are, if I recall
So use it make some real change not just advertisements at the mall
No one needs a light show
Just good flows
You don’t need a light show
Just good flows

Dear Kanye
Keep icin those knees
And when your paycheck comes
Will you remember your busted screen
Your crown of thorns is sensational
But it’s not what makes you bleed
Cause there’s a young man
His rhymes set him free
He loves what you do but he can’t seem
To shake the septic sanction of the streets
He’s reading your blog and all he finds are commercials
For stuff he’ll never need
You have a good idea now put some shoes on its feet
And try to make your Loop Dreams a real priority
You don’t need a light show
Just good flow
No one needs a light show
Just good flow
You don’t need a light show
Just good flow

Dear Kanye
It’s time to let go
You’ve gathered the moss of
More than a dozen sullen stones
People want music on a real stage
Not the one you bring along

B.o.B. starting to blow up with his new EP

I am not THAT big of a fan of his song, but peep this statement that was recently released. He is set to go on tour with A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, and Mos Def…. how cool is that! Pretty good for a newcomer.

The ATL-based rapper will celebrate the EP’s release by spending his summer lighting it up on the annual Rock The Bells tour. The 10-city traveling festival extravaganza – headlined by such hip-hop superstars as A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, and Mos Def – will kick off on Saturday, July 19th at Chicago’s First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre, with dates continuing through early September (see attached itinerary).

“Mellow Fellow” will be MySpace’s “Single of the Week,” beginning on July 15th. B.o.B already has a major presence online, having logged close to 5 million total plays at his official MySpace page, www.myspace.com/bobatl. In addition, his recently launched You Tube channel – located at www.youtube.com/bobatl — is offering fans exclusive webisodes, music videos and in-studio performances.

B.o.B is currently blowing up on MTV with his recent single/video, “Haterz Everywhere.” The clip has just made a top 10 debut on the network’s Sucker Free Countdown, and was recently been named MTV’s “Jam of the Week.” Furthermore, the video has scored major play on MTV2 and mtvU and remains in “Blazin’” rotation at MTV Jams, where B.o.B is among the artists featured in the network’s “Fab 5 of Summer 2008” programming.

An accomplished musician, B.o.B contributes his own guitar work to “12TH DIMENSION,” while also producing three of the EP’s four tracks, including “Mellow Fellow.” A wide range of media attention has greeted this talented new artist’s arrival on the hip-hop scene, with features and reviews appearing in such national publications and online outlets as The Source, Complex, Spin, URB, XXL, Fader, Rolling Stone, and Murderdog. Vibe recently hailed the 19-year-old rapper’s leading role in the emerging ATL sound, noting that “a musical renaissance has begun to take shape, and locals like B.o.B are putting a new movement in motion.”

Lil’ Wayne performs in Texas, looking like the Taliban

I am a 50/50 Lil’ Wayne fan. Some of is music I can bump to, but I never buy his albums. I just get tired of all the people that are constantly on Lil’ Wayne’s nuts (Yes, I just said that). I can’t stand all of these people & reviewers calling him the greatest rapper of all time, or even the best one out now. WAKE UP people, he is not the best. I can put Kanye, Andre 3000, Common and of course Jay-Z way before Weezy.

I’m going to need for all these people to stop “..licking the rapppppppppper” lmao.

Anyway, here are some pics from his recent concert in Austin, Texas. What the hell is up with the scarf he has on? when the heck did that come in style lol?! Lookin’ like he is best friends with Osama or something.
